The design of the TS2 compact domestic subwoofers draw on Tannoy’s extensive professional and stadium loudspeaker design experience to deliver class-leading low frequency drama and thunderous bass effects. The design allows considerable LFE output from a compact cabinet, making the TS2 range ideal for a wide range of home cinema systems.

TANNOY TS2.12 FEATURE

Inside the double-thickness cabinet the TS2 range uses the latest class-D digital amplifiers, running in highly efficient bridge mode, delivering up to 500Watts RMS of deep bass power. Replacing traditional analogue filter networks, the TS2’s high-speed Digital Signal Processing (DSP) engine handles bass management and all user adjustments. These include simple rotary controls for roll-off frequency, phase and gain, making the TS2 subwoofers as simple to set-up and as they are potent to use. An auto power on/off feature eliminates the need to access the TS2’s controls once set up and further ensures the most power-efficient operation.

Available in finishes from discreet satin grey to visually stunning high gloss black or white, the TS2 subwoofer are ideal for a wide range of domestic environments. Whichever model you choose the TS2 subwoofers deliver the deepest, tightest and loudest bass response in their class.

Drivers

The TS2.12 is the most potent subwoofer in the TS2 range. Its double driver configuration dramatically increases cone surface area and balances out cabinet vibration. The twin 12” drivers offer a similar cone surface area and LF output to a subwoofer with a single 18” driver, yet the TS2.12 remains no physically larger than a typical 12” subwoofer. This elegant solution ensures the TS2.12 is compact enough for easy placement yet packs punch and power of a subwoofer much larger than its physical size. Each high-excursion driver uses a light yet stiff multi-fibre cone with butyl rubber roll surround to deliver lightening bass speed and low frequency depth.

Amplifier

Equipped with monstrous 500Watt Watt RMS class D bridge mode amplifier, the TS2.12 subwoofer is bristling with power and technology. A Tri-State Pulse Width Modulated Digital Signal Processor is used to adjust crossover frequency, phase and gain control in the digital domain, eliminating analogue filter circuitry from the signal path. The TS2.12 delivers ultrafast bass and potent Low Frequency Effects right down to a class-leading 20 Hz.

Cabinet

The TS2.12 cabinet is built from massive 25 mm MDF throughout, substantially reducing cabinet colouration and adding considerable extra mass for stabilisation. Tannoy’s polymer cone feet are used on the TS2.12, to offer the greatest stability across a wide range of floor surfaces from hard laminates to carpet. Each cabinet is meticulously hand-finished in discreet satin vinyl or piano black high gloss. The hard-wearing paint is then hand polished to a mirror finish. A pair of full-width removable grilles is supplied for those wanting to keep the TS2.12’s impressive twin drivers concealed.
